I am currently a nursing student in the Lewis Clark State College
BSN program. I have a bachelor’s degree in education, a master’s degree in exercise
physiology. Prevention and treatment of disease has been my calling throughout my career. As an ACSM certified Health and Fitness
Specialist and Certified Wellcoaches™ Health and Wellness coach, I have been
teaching health, nutrition, disease prevention for over 20
years. I have a passion to help people
get healthy, reduce their risk of disease, achieve their ideal weight and fitness level with good nutrition, exercise and health practices.
The areas that I am very interested in are cardiology, diabetes, Alzheimer's and osteoporosis. I am a strong educator and patient advocate. My experience includes working in Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab, Diabetes Education and Osteoporosis programs. I also have taught numerous classes on prevention of these diseases, cancer and Alzheimer's Disease. I incorporate the impact and importance of nutrition and exercise on the body’s health and performance.
Diabetes has been one of my latest passions. I have been a provider for a Diabetes Wellness Program called the Diabetes Free Zone, which has been successful in reducing my clients blood sugars, medications and insulin. I combine my experience in cooking, nutrition, and exercise to create a fun and informative classes and coaching sessions. I have also worked as a Wellness Coordinator assisting companies in implementing wellness programs, biometric screenings and health fairs. My desire is to help people understand their health and provide fun and interesting ways to help them learn how they can improve it. My hope is to incorporate these various elements into my nursing practice.
